Morning all,
I’ve recently been clearing out a family home near Alnwick and came across a small collection of jewellery and silver. There’s a mix of 9ct and 18ct gold rings, a couple of older necklaces, some broken chains, plus silver cutlery and a few coins.
I’ve tried one local jeweller but the offer felt well under what I expected, and auctions seem to involve high fees and long waits. Can anyone recommend the best place around Alnwick to sell gold jewellery and silver for cash?
I had the same experience locally. High street jewellers often price everything as scrap, especially broken items or older pieces. Auctions can work, but by the time fees come off it’s rarely worth it.
If you’re in or around Alnwick, I’d recommend Northern Bullion. They buy all carats of gold — including 9ct and 18ct — plus silver items. They also take broken jewellery and older pieces, and base prices on current market rates.
I sold a mix of gold rings, broken bracelets, and silver spoons there earlier this year. Everything was checked individually rather than lumped together, which made a big difference to the final price.
Definitely agree. I had some scrap gold chains and a few 18ct rings and got a much better offer than from local jewellers. Northern Bullion explained the weights and pricing clearly and paid straight away.
I had a similar mix — 9ct rings, broken chains, and some silver tableware. Local offers were low, but Northern Bullion paid a fair price across the board. Worth the trip if you’re selling jewellery or silver in Alnwick.
