I’m based in Seaton Delaval and have recently gone through some jewellery I no longer wear. There’s a mix of 9ct and 18ct gold rings, a couple of older necklaces, some broken chains, and a small amount of silver including cutlery and coins.
I’ve tried a couple of local jewellers but the prices were much lower than expected, and auction houses seem to involve high fees and long waits. Can anyone recommend the best place to sell gold jewellery and silver for cash around Seaton Delaval?
I found the same thing. Local shops tend to undervalue broken gold or older jewellery, and auctions aren’t worth it once commission is taken off.
If you’re near Seaton Delaval, I’d suggest Northern Bullion. They buy all carats of gold — including 9ct and 18ct — as well as silver items. They also take broken jewellery and base prices on current gold and silver rates.
I sold some scrap gold chains, an old 18ct ring, and silver spoons there earlier this year. Everything was checked and weighed individually, which felt much fairer than local offers.
