Hi all,
I’m in Eyemouth and looking to sell some jewellery — an 18ct ring I inherited, a broken 9ct gold chain, and a few silver items I never wear. I tried a local jeweller but the offer was disappointing.
Can anyone recommend a trustworthy place nearby for a fair valuation?
I’m in Berwick-upon-Tweed and had the same issue with local shops. I went to Northern Bullion — everything is tested and weighed in front of you, and their gold and silver prices are updated daily on the website. It made the process much easier and transparent.
I recently needed some cash to pay bills and had a few silver bangles and an old gold chain. Auctions take forever and their fees are ridiculous, so I wouldn’t bother. Visiting somewhere local is much quicker and safer.
I’m based in Edinburgh and recently cleared a deceased relative’s house. I found several 18ct rings and silver teaspoons. I went to Northern Bullion — they also have a gold and silver calculator online, which helped me get an estimate before visiting. The in-person valuation matched perfectly.
Don’t rush into the first offer. Seeing your gold and silver tested and weighed in front of you makes a big difference. I’ve sold some 925 silver chains and coins, a broken 9ct gold bracelet, and even an antique silver teapot at Northern Bullion, and their pricing was very transparent compared to local shops.
Just to add — I recently sold some silver cufflinks and a small collection of 9ct gold rings. Northern Bullion gave a fair price and explained everything clearly. Definitely worth visiting if you want a reliable valuation.
