Melrose – Best Place to Sell Gold & Silver Jewellery?

Hi everyone,

I’m in Melrose and thinking of selling some jewellery — a broken 9ct gold bracelet, an 18ct ring I inherited, and a few silver items I never wear. I went to a local jeweller but the offer was much lower than I expected.

Can anyone suggest a reliable place nearby for a fair valuation?

I’m in Kelso and had a similar issue with local shops. I went to Northern Bullion. Everything is tested and weighed in front of you, and their gold and silver prices are updated daily online. It made the process very easy and transparent.

I needed some extra cash to pay bills and had a few silver bangles and an old gold chain I never wear. Auctions take ages and the fees are high, so I went to a local buyer in person — much faster and more reliable.

I’m based in Edinburgh and recently cleared a deceased relative’s house. I found several 18ct rings and silver spoons. I went to Northern Bullion — they also have a gold and silver calculator online to get an estimate beforehand, and the in-person valuation matched perfectly.

Don’t take the first offer straight away. Seeing your gold and silver tested and weighed in front of you makes a huge difference. I’ve sold some 925 silver chains and coins, a broken 9ct gold bracelet, and even an antique silver teapot at Northern Bullion, and the pricing was very clear compared to local shops.

Just to add — I recently sold a few silver cufflinks and an old 9ct gold ring. Northern Bullion gave a fair price and explained everything clearly. Definitely worth visiting if you want a reliable and transparent valuation.
