Rowlands Gill – Where’s the Best Place to Sell Gold & Silver Jewellery?

Morning all,

I’m based in Rowlands Gill and looking to sell a small collection of gold and silver jewellery. There’s a couple of 18ct rings, some 9ct chains (one broken), and a few silver items that have been sitting in a drawer for years.

I’ve spoken to one local jeweller but wasn’t confident in the prices offered. Before I try anywhere else, does anyone have recommendations for a reliable place that pays fairly?

I’m actually in Gateshead but used
Northern Bullion
earlier this year. Sold a mix of 9ct and 18ct gold jewellery and some silver pieces. Everything was weighed properly and priced using daily rates, which felt much fairer than the high street.

I’ve heard good feedback about Northern Bullion too. A friend sold broken gold chains and scrap jewellery and said the process was straightforward with no pressure.

Avoid auctions unless the pieces are very special. Once fees and delays are factored in, you usually end up with less than expected.

Transparency is key. Places that clearly explain carat weight and silver content tend to be much more trustworthy.
