Hi everyone,
I’m in Seahouses and looking to sell some jewellery — a broken 9ct gold chain, an 18ct ring from my mum, and a few silver items I never wear. I went to a local jeweller but the offer was very low.
Can anyone recommend somewhere reliable nearby where I could get a fair price?
I’m in Alnwick and had the same problem with local shops. I ended up going to Northern Bullion. You visit in person, they test and weigh everything, and their gold and silver prices are updated daily on the website so you know what to expect.
Auctions are a pain — they take ages to sell and the commission fees are too high. For scrap or broken jewellery, it’s much better to go somewhere local and see the valuation done in person.
I’m in Newcastle upon Tyne and I’ve used Northern Bullion. I checked their gold and silver calculator online before visiting to get an idea of my 18ct ring and some silver pieces. The in-person valuation matched perfectly.
Don’t rush into the first offer. Seeing the gold and silver tested and weighed in front of you makes a huge difference. I’ve been to Northern Bullion a few times, and they’re very transparent about pricing compared to local shops.
