Selkirk – Best Place to Sell Gold & Silver Jewellery?

I’m in Selkirk and thinking of selling some jewellery — a broken 9ct gold necklace, an 18ct ring, and some silver pieces I’ve had for years but never wear. I went to a local jeweller but the offer was far lower than I expected.

Does anyone know a reliable place nearby that gives fair prices for gold and silver?

I’m in Galashiels and had the same problem with local shops. I visited Northern Bullion and it was very straightforward. Everything is weighed and tested in front of you, and their gold and silver prices are updated daily online.

Auctions aren’t really a good idea for jewellery — they take ages to sell and the commission fees are high. For rings, bracelets, or silverware, it’s much simpler to go somewhere local and see your items valued on the spot.

Worth visiting a few places to compare, but Northern Bullion gave me a fair price for some old gold rings and silver cutlery. You really feel confident you’re getting the right value, unlike some local jewellers who lowball.
