I’m currently clearing a relative’s house in Byker, Newcastle upon Tyne. While sorting through personal items, I’ve come across some antique gold jewellery.
I contacted an auction house, but their commission fees were around 35%, and they said it could take months to receive payment, which isn’t ideal.
Can anyone recommend the best place to sell gold and jewellery in Newcastle upon Tyne? Ideally somewhere that pays fairly and doesn’t involve huge fees.

Auctions are fine for very rare pieces, but for most jewellery the fees can wipe out a lot of the value. I’d personally look for a specialist gold buyer instead.
